pandalicious's Diaryland Diary ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Ferrets A Jolly Good Fellow Mike wants a ferret. They are cute little fuckers, aren't they? I agreed that we could get a ferret as long as it's cage is on the patio. The apartment is not big enough for a cage, and there really isn't a good place FOR one except the patio. We are on the 2nd floor, so fleas probably can't jump that high... and since there's a roof and an overhang (?) (EAVE?) most birds won't fly onto the porch to check out the little guy. So it should be just fine outside. And we won't have a pet deposit this way. So all of this ferret-having business is expensive. The place we were at for lunch is next door to a pet store, and the VERY COOL guy there showed Mike all of the things you'd need for a PFO (Proper Ferret Ownership)... at the very minimum it's like this: 1) A ferret. These are typically about $100 each. 2) A cage. Also about $100. 3) Food. This part is never-ending... 4) Litter. Also never-ending... Plus there's toys and waterbottles and other things, because we'd want our ferret to be totally pimped out. They even have ferret shirts, for the ferret to actually wear. Mike said HELL NO, but then I said but we could put an ill2def.com logo on it and then suddenly having a ferret in a t-shirt doesn't seem so wrong! Mike wants the ferret TODAY. I said that after the Mr. T/Housewarming party Saturday we can see about it... but then there's other things that ferret money can be used for. Then he wants me to pay for 1/2 of all of the ferret and the ferret goodness. I think he doesn't understand that I have about 100 other things that need paying first. If he doesn't want to wait, he will buy the ferret on his own. Which he should anyway. I am paying most of the rent, so he could hook the F up with it's own little crib. That'd be fair. Then later I could get an extra F to add to the mix... kind of like US but on a reversed ferret tip. He thought that it'd be cool to name it Ferret Bueller. I think that's cool, too. I want to get one, too, now. Damn. They are pretty friendly. Yay. I want one, but I can wait a month or so. We'll have our ferrets by Sunday.
